A live-ish calendar of confirmed and rumoured shows at Etihad Arena, plus the Casa Duna team’s practical advice on tickets, transport, and where to stay for each.
Etihad Arena on Yas Bay is the largest indoor arena in the region (capacity ~18,000), and since its 2021 opening it’s become the headline music venue for the GCC. We live ten minutes’ walk from the door and host arena guests every week the schedule is on.
The arena’s official schedule is at etihadarena.ae. Tickets sell through Live Nation Middle East (live-nation.me), Platinumlist, and Coca-Cola Arena’s parent ticketing. This guide is the practical layer on top — what you actually need to know.
What’s on (current as of May 2026)
Concert calendars at Etihad Arena are confirmed 2–6 months out, with the F1 After-Race concerts (early December) confirmed earliest. We update this page when new shows are announced; the arena’s own page is the source of truth for last-minute date changes.
Recent and announced highlights:
- F1 Abu Dhabi 2026 After-Race Concerts — early December. Lineups typically drop August–September. Past F1 weekends have included Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Calvin Harris, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Bruno Mars.
- Etihad Park headliners — summer events tend to move to the outdoor Etihad Park stage adjacent to the arena. Past acts: Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, J Balvin.
- Comedy and live shows — Trevor Noah, Hasan Minhaj, Russell Peters, and others have done weekend residencies.
- Sports — World Tennis League, ADCC grappling, Ultimate Boxing.
- Cirque du Soleil residencies typically run a 2–3 week block in the cooler months.
For the live up-to-date list, check etihadarena.ae directly — we don’t try to keep this page real-time accurate because confirmed dates shift.
When to buy tickets
- F1 weekend concerts — drop in August/September. Sell out fast (the bundle is included in many F1 ticket tiers). The standalone-concert ticket option for non-race attendees usually sells out within 48 hours.
- A-list pop and hip-hop — sell out within 24 hours of on-sale.
- Stand-up comedy — usually a 1–2 week window before selling out.
- Cirque-style residencies — flexible, multi-week, easier to grab last-minute.
Pre-sales via Live Nation, du, and Etihad credit cards usually drop 48 hours before public sale. Worth signing up.
How to get there
The arena sits at the southern tip of Yas Bay Waterfront. From any Yas Island accommodation:
- From Water’s Edge (Casa Duna’s Canal View 1BR): 10–12 minute walk along the canal and Yas Bay boardwalk. We walk our guests to the door.
- From the W Abu Dhabi or Yas Hotel: 8 minutes by car, longer by walk; the boardwalk connection takes ~15 minutes.
- From Yas Plaza hotels (Centro, Park Inn, Crowne Plaza Yas): 10 minutes by car, no good walking option.
- From Abu Dhabi mainland: 15–20 minutes by car.
- From Dubai: 90 minutes by car. Do not day-trip from Dubai for a 9 PM concert — you’ll miss the start and stress the return.
Parking
Two surface lots adjacent to Etihad Arena (free), one multi-storey at Yas Bay (also free), plus Yas Mall multi-storey 12 minutes’ walk away (free, less crowded post-show).
Big concert nights: arrive 60 minutes before doors. The lots fill 40 minutes before, and exiting after the show is 30–45 minutes of crawl. Walking from Water’s Edge skips this entirely.
Inside the arena
Standard arena layout. Lower bowl (sections 100s) for closer views, upper (200s) for cheaper seats. Floor configurations vary by show.
Concourse F&B — overpriced, predictable. Operation Falafel, Shake Shack, and a Starbucks are usually open. Eat at Yas Bay restaurants pre-show for a better deal.
Bar — alcohol licensed for events that allow it. Card-only.
Bag policy — small bags fine. No backpacks. Bottled water often confiscated.
Where to stay for a concert weekend
Three tiers:
-
Yas Bay-adjacent (Hilton Yas Bay, Marriott Yas Bay): you walk to the arena in 2 minutes, but you’re 12 minutes from Ferrari World and 8 minutes from the F1 track.
-
Water’s Edge (Casa Duna Canal View 1BR + partner properties): 10–12 minutes’ walk to the arena, plus walking distance to F1 paddock, Ferrari World, Yas Mall. Best all-purpose pick for a concert weekend that includes any other Yas activity. Book direct or browse all properties.
-
W Abu Dhabi: a 12-minute car ride or 15-minute boardwalk walk — luxe but car-dependent for the arena.
For F1 weekend specifically (when arena concerts are bundled with F1 tickets), see our F1 weekend planner.
After the show
Doors close around 11 PM, taxis surge, the walking radius is solid gold. From Casa Duna’s apartment, you’re home in 12 minutes on foot vs. 40 minutes in a Careem queue.
If you’re driving: avoid the Yas Bay exit gates for 30 minutes. Walk to Yas Mall (12 minutes), exit through that side. Skips most of the post-show queue.
Late-night food that stays open until 1 AM-ish on event nights: McGettigan’s at the W, Lock Stock & Barrel at Yas Bay, Shake Shack inside Yas Mall (until midnight).

Pro tips from a local host
- Best floor seats: the front rail of the upper bowl (row A in the 200s) often beats mid-floor for sound and sightlines. Counter-intuitive but true.
- Sound check: for a few residencies, sound check is open to ticket holders who arrive 90 minutes early. Worth checking the artist’s social media day-of.
- Merch: pop-up merch tents in the arena foyer queue early. Online pre-order if your artist offers it.
- Weather: even in summer, indoor arena is cold (heavy AC). Bring a light layer.
- Photos: phones fine, no flash. Pro cameras with detachable lenses sometimes blocked at door — varies by tour rider.
What we hand to arena-weekend guests
When a Casa Duna guest books for a specific concert weekend:
- We pin the walking route to the arena on their welcome message.
- Restaurant pre-bookings at Yas Bay for pre-show dinner (we work the phones).
- Late check-out so the post-show day starts slow.
- Tip on whether the artist’s specific tour usually runs short (good for post-show drinks) or long (plan accordingly).
Message the team on WhatsApp at +971 58 580 2785 two weeks before the show. We’ll set it up.
FAQ
Where can I see the current Etihad Arena calendar?
At etihadarena.ae. We don’t keep a live calendar here — show dates and lineups shift, and the arena’s page is the source of truth.
Are F1 After-Race Concerts included in F1 tickets?
Most weekend F1 ticket tiers include the After-Race Concerts. Single-day tickets vary. Check at point of purchase.
Is Etihad Arena indoor or outdoor?
Indoor. The adjacent Etihad Park (outdoor amphitheatre) hosts cooler-weather outdoor concerts. Confirm venue at booking.
Can I walk to Etihad Arena from a Yas Island hotel?
From Yas Bay hotels yes (2 min). From Water’s Edge yes (10–12 min). From the W Abu Dhabi technically yes but it’s a 15-min boardwalk walk. From Yas Plaza or further — no, take a car.
Are concerts family-friendly?
Depends on the act. Cirque, Disney on Ice, and most Cirque-style residencies are family-suitable. Hip-hop and rock shows tend to be 16+ in practice. Check the specific event listing.
What time do concerts usually start and end?
Doors 7:30 PM, opener 8:00 PM, headliner 9:00–9:30 PM. Most shows end 11:00–11:30 PM. F1 weekend after-race concerts run later — 10:30 PM start, midnight finish.
What about parking on F1 weekend?
Yas Bay and Yas Mall parking is generally still accessible during F1 weekend, but the island-wide one-way traffic plan from Friday morning makes ingress slow. Walking from a Water’s Edge stay avoids the question entirely.
Coming to a specific show? Message the Casa Duna team on WhatsApp at +971 58 580 2785 with the date and we’ll walk you through restaurant pre-bookings, the best walking route, and post-show logistics. Or book a stay in walking distance of the door.
